The Chilterns MS Centre is a local charity based in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, which has been supporting people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) for more than 37 years. By providing the treatment, knowledge and a community of health professionals and peers, we empower people living with MS to thrive.

We currently work with more than 650 members, offering them a chance to recharge, rehabilitate and reconnect with their lives and the world beyond their MS.

The services we offer go above and beyond those the NHS can provide for people with MS. Our modern, purpose-built Centre offers many different therapies, workshops and treatments to make sure that people we support can live rich, independent lives.

Our members each pay £25 per year to support our running costs and they receive our services for free, but there’s still a huge amount to fundraise. We rely on the generous donations of our local community, to help our members to live life to the full.

We value each and every person that contributes towards the work we do, from staff, trustees, volunteers and supporters. Everyone plays an important role in helping us to empower those affected by MS to lead healthier and happier lives.Our trustees come from a variety of backgrounds and each one brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the charity.Here at the Chilterns MS Centre we feel privileged to have several high profile Patrons supporting our cause. They have provided us with support with our events within the community and helped us to fundraise. We give our heartfelt thanks to all of our patrons.Our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and play a vital role in delivering the support we offer to those affected by multiple sclerosis.

Without our dedicated team of volunteers we wouldn’t be able to run our Oxygen treatment, our café or even answer the phones!In 2011 we won the Queens Award for Voluntary Services – the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities.

It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen’s coronation. It is the MBE for volunteer groups. Any group doing volunteer work that provides a social, economic or environmental service to the local community can be nominated for the award. Each group is assessed on the benefit it brings to the local community and its standing within that community, and we are incredibly proud to have been recognised in this way.
